Artist of the Term (Summer 2014) – Henri Matisse (1869 – 1954)

This term we are looking at the artist Henri Matisse whose most famous collages were those that were done with the technique of 'Drawing with Scissors'. The children have already been making their own collages and they have looked very closely at one of his most famous pictures, 'The Snail'. 

The children have engaged in a range of activities and experiences that have allowed the children to explore Henri Matisse and his creative work.  The children have even created their own Henri Matisse collage in the garden using flowers and pebbles.
